Why KevsMill Tutoring?

Our multi-sensory approach guides clients to activate ALL parts of their brain. We teach them to develop an ease with using strategies that work and to advocate for themselves so that they can enter the classroom with confidence. We model productively struggling with problems; we normalize being challenged and wondering how to solve problems. Our tutors love to learn and to discuss and discover how to optimize learning.

Motivation

Students need to feel joy and be playful in order to learn. They will not do the hard work necessary if they are not motivated; playfulness motivates.

Independence

Our job is to ask quality questions. While we offer learning scaffolds, the goal is increased accountability.

Resilience

By modeling and proving that mistakes build us, we guide a true “Growth Mindset.” By meeting students at their point of need, we free them up to spend their time challenging themselves.

 creativity

We show a true wonder of numbers, patterns, and learning in general; this engages students and thus alleviates anxiety and improves test scores.
